In the early hours of today, Monday 15 September, 2025, the Guinness World Records officially gave Hilda Baci her well deserve flower as the new record holder.
Baci, already a Guinness World Record holder for the longest cooking marathon by an individual (100 hours in 2023).
Guinness World Records, in a post on its official X account said “New record: Largest serving of Nigerian style jollof rice – 8,780 kg (19,356 lb 9 oz) achieved by Hilda Baci and Gino in Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria”.
Reacting to the award, Hilda Baci said “we have done it again.”
Recall that Baci accommodated about 250 bags of rice, along with some spices, vegetables, and proteins to prepare the meal.
The event sponsored by seasoning brand Gino, emphasized unity and cultural heritage, with Baci stating, “Jollof represents who we are, our culture, our togetherness, and our shared pride. With Gino, I am excited to make history.”
Attendees, many of whom traveled from across Nigeria and beyond, were treated to complimentary meals, live performances, and a festive atmosphere at Eko Hotel in Victoria Island.
