NAF 58th Anniversary Celebration Postponed To 21 May
The Nigerian Air Force, NAF, has announced the postponement of its 58th anniversary celebration to 21 May, 2O22.
Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet, Director of Public Relations and Information, who disclosed this on, Tuesday 17 May, in a press statement, said the epoch event would still hold at the same venue at NAF Base, Kano.
TheFact Nigeria recalls that NAF had, last week, through the Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the NAF Day 2022 Celebration/Reunion, Air Commodore Olasunkanmi Abidoye at a press briefing held at the Headquarters NAF, announced that it had commenced activities to mark its 58th anniversary celebration due to hold at the Nigerian Air Force Base, Kano from 19 to 21 May 2022.
According to Gabkwet, the change in date was due to unforseen circumstances. He therefore, on behalf of NAF, apologised to all its invited guests for the inconveniences the new shift in date may have caused them.
This year’s NAF Day, themed, “Enhancing Nigerian Air Force Efficiency in Joint Operations for Effective Response to Contemporary National Security Imperatives,” is aimed at emphasizing renewed focus on joint military operations and effective synergy among the Services and other security agencies as well as consolidating on the gains of the employment of airpower especially at this critical stage in the Nation’s history.
The theme is also in tandem with the Chief of Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Oladayo Amao’s vision, “To enhance and sustain critical airpower capabilities required for joint force employment in pursuit of national security imperatives”.
The anniversary now holds from Saturday, 21 to Monday, 23 May, 2022.
