The Nigerian Air Force (NAF), operating under Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK), has successfully repelled a terrorist assault on military positions in Rann, Borno State, in the early hours of Friday.
Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, disclosed this on Friday, saying the operation was executed following credible intelligence on the movement of insurgents.
He said coordinated Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) and Air Interdiction (AI) missions which were launched in close collaboration with ground troops, enabled the tracking of clusters of fleeing terrorists who were engaged with precision munitions, resulting in the neutralisation of several insurgents.
“The swift air support restored calm to the embattled area and thwarted further escalation” Ejodame said, while reaffirming the NAF’s “unwavering commitment to providing close air support, safeguarding troops, and swiftly neutralising insurgent threats across the North-East.”
