NAF, Chinese Defence University Delegation Deepen Military Collaboration

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) say it is strengthening military collaboration with the Chinese People’s Liberation Army Defence University.
NAF disclosed this in a post on its X handle, @NigAirForce on Saturday, saying it hosted a delegation from the Chinese People’s Liberation Army Defence University, led by Rear Admiral Hu Gang Feng on Friday.
TheFact Daily had reported that the delegation on Friday, also visited the Army Headquarters in Abuja, where they expressed their desire to bolster bilateral cooperation with the Nigerian Army.
The delegation to the NAF Headquarters was received by the Chief of Policy and Plans (COPP), Air Vice Marshal IH Etukudo, on behalf of the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar.
AVM Etukudo highlighted the long-standing partnership between Nigeria and China, noting China’s significant contributions to the NAF, including training, platform modernisation, and equipment procurement.
He also emphasized that 57 NAF personnel have benefitted from training in China since 2019, reflecting the growing collaboration between the two nations.
Rear Admiral Hu expressed his appreciation for the NAF’s operational excellence, particularly in counterterrorism and joint operations.
He commended the NAF’s emphasis on capacity building, highlighting the importance of the Air Force’s comprehensive training programmes in fostering operational readiness.
“The visit underscored the growing collaboration between the two militaries, reinforcing their shared commitment to enhancing defense capabilities and strengthening bilateral ties”, NAF said.
