By Anne Osemekeh, Abuja

In pursuit of enhanced operational effectiveness and strengthened global partnerships, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has dispatched a delegation of three senior officers to the International Test Pilot School (ITPS) in Canada.

A statement by the Service on its Facebook page on Tuesday said the delegation was led by Air Commodore A.H. Idris, Director of Training.

The visit aligns with the vision of the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, to deliver smarter and more effective airpower through international collaboration, advanced training, and continuous technological innovation.

During the engagement, discussions focused on expanding cooperation between the NAF and ITPS in aircrew and technical capacity development, including basic flying training, maintenance personnel development, and aircraft engine and airframe overhauls. The team also explored opportunities for cockpit upgrades aimed at boosting mission readiness, operational safety, and overall efficiency.

The delegation held productive meetings and toured ITPS facilities—including training, maintenance, and administrative departments—to gain firsthand insight into the institution’s advanced training methodologies and technical standards.

“This visit highlights the NAF’s proactive approach to building strategic partnerships that support the Chief of the Air Staff’s commitment to transforming the Service into a technologically driven and agile force capable of safeguarding lives and property nationwide”, the Service said.
