The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, has visited Doha, Qatar to engage with Barzan Holdings, a leading Qatari defence company.
The Nigerian Air Force on Friday, via its verified X handle, said the CAS’s recent visit to the Middle Eastern country was in furtherance of his Command Philosophy to transform the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) into an agile and resilient force which effectively fulfils the airpower imperatives of national security.
Discussions centred on leveraging opportunities for technology transfer, and the acquisition of cutting-edge solutions to meet the operational demands of the NAF.
“This aligns with the CAS’s strategic intent to enhance the NAF’s core competencies through innovation and collaboration, underscoring the importance of global partnerships in the development of critical national security capabilities”, the NAF said.
It added that the engagement with Barzan Holdings also reflects the broader objectives of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s visit to Qatar in March 2024, which sought to strengthen bilateral relations, particularly in the areas of security and economic cooperation.
