A delegation from the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has visited the Nigerian Army College of Logistics and Management (NACOLM) on a feasibility tour.
The College’s PRO, Maj. George Okupe, who disclosed this on Wednesday, said the visit, which took place on 19th November at the permanent site in Ojo, Lagos, was aimed primarily to gain insights from NACOLM and to evaluate the feasibility of establishing an Air Force College of Logistics (AFCOL), as well as understanding the College’s organizational structure, courses, curricula and syllabi.
TheFact Daily gathers that by establishing a College of Logistics, the NAF aims to strengthen its logistical capabilities, ultimately enhancing its combat readiness and effectiveness in supporting national security objectives, in line with the Chief of Air Staff’s philosophy to enhance the force’s capabilities for future warfare.
The productive engagement between the NAF delegation, which was led by Air Vice Marshal Lawal Alao (rtd) alongside other distinguished senior officers, and the Army College, included a brief presentation of NACOLM, interactive discussions and a guided tour of NACOLM facilities, providing the team with a firsthand view of the College’s infrastructure and resources.
The delegation expressed gratitude for the hospitality extended to them and noted their admiration for the initiatives and programs NACOLM has implemented.
In his remarks, AVM LS Alao (rtd) expressed gratitude to the Commandant NACOLM, Maj. Gen. Wisdom Etuka, for facilitating the visit despite the unfortunate passing of the late COAS, Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja. He also commended the College for its remarkable achievements over the years.
Major General Etuk, in his response, expressed his appreciation for the visit and pledged his unwavering support and collaboration toward ensuring the successful establishment of AFCOL by the NAF.
