The Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS), Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ikechukwu Ogalla is in Venice, Italy for the 14th Trans-regional Seapower Symposium.
Ogalla, who arrived Venice on Monday, 7th October, had a meet and greet with other dignitaries and participants including the American Chief of Naval Operations, Admiral Lisa Franchetti and the Director of the International Hydrographic Organisation, John Nyberg.
The Trans-Regional Seapower Symposium, the flagship international conference organized by the Italian Navy, will take place from Tuesday 8th to Thursday, 10th October 2024. It will focus on the underwater environment, based on a schedule including discussions and working sessions as well as meetings and cultural events.
Later today, 8 October 2024, the CNS will be delivering a paper titled “Preserving The Underwater — The Secure and Sustainable Use Of The Underwater”.
The Venice Symposium is unique on the international scene, as it is designed as a moment of analysis and synthesis involving the maritime cluster in its broadest sense (international organizations, industry, academia, research centres, military).
The special character of the Venice Symposium is evidenced by the invitation of 106 Chief of Navies from around the world and about 400 top representatives of entities belonging to the broader international maritime cluster, including political figures.
