Navy Chief Urges Christians To Show Generosity At Yuletide

The Chief Of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Awwal Zubairu Gambo, has urged Christian faithfuls to reciprocate God’s generosity to them by being more sensitive to the needs of the less privileged during this Christmas season.

The Navy Chief made the call on Saturday, 10 December 2022, at the Naval Officers Wives Association (NOWA) Christmas Carol Service, held at the National Defence College, Abuja.

Vice Admiral Gambo, who was represented by the Flag Officer Commanding Western Naval Command, Rear Admiral Jason Gbassa, as a Special Guest of honour at the occasion, emphasied that the meaning of Christmas should not end with the period but should constantly be brought to bear in our regular lives.

“Therefore, as we join the world to celebrate this auspicious season, I want to sincerely appreciate NOWA for organising this edition of the Carol Night. I must not fail to commend the zeal and commitment exhibited by the association at sustaining this important and special activity annually”, Gambo added.

On her part, the President of NOWA, Hajiya Nana Aisha Gambo, who was represented by the Abuja Zonal Coordinator, Loveleen Lassa, noted that christians should not lose the focus of what is being celebrated.

According to her, Christmas period is a time to forgive, worship and thank God, and a time to reflect on the Year 2022 with all its rigours and activities, which are gradually coming to an end.

“Christmas season is a special period celebrated worldwide, that reminds us of God’s love for mankind, it is a time to remember that God fulfilled His promise and sent His Son to the earth, it is a time to remember His generosity,” she said.

The Christmas Car Service was themed, ‘The King is Born’.
