Rear Admiral Musa Katagum, Chief of Operations at the Nigerian Navy Headquarters, has died after a brief illness.
According to authoritative military sources, Katagum died at a hospital in Egypt, where he had travelled for further medical evaluation after undergoing an initial surgery in September last year.
A highly respected officer of the Nigerian Navy, Rear Admiral Katagum previously served at the Defence Headquarters and was former Chief of Naval Intelligence before his recent appointment as Chief of Operations by the Chief of Naval Staff.
In his role at Naval Headquarters, he oversaw key operational activities and made significant contributions to Nigeria’s maritime security architecture.
