New Power Sector Firm, NISO Shops For MD, Four EDs

The Nigerian Independent System Operator of Nigeria Limited (NISO), a new firm created from the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) is shopping for the post of Managing Director/CEO, and Four Executive Directors.

NISO was created by the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) from the TCN to handle all market and system operation responsibilities.

TCN had previously held licences issued by NERC for both Transmission Service Provider and System Operations.

However, in line with with the provisions outlined in the Electricity Act 2023, which offer clearer guidelines for incorporating and licensing an independent system operator, TCN was ordered to transfer its assets and liabilities related to market and system operations to the new entity.

NISO said, its seeking for experienced and visionary leaders to join its team as Managing Director/CEO and Executive Directors (EDAs) to provide executive and strategic leadership for their operations in Nigeria.

This, it said, was a unique opportunity to influence the strategic direction of Nigeria’s electricity grid and ensure a reliable, sustainable and efficient power supply for millions of Nigerians.

The EDs positions are for Executive Director, System Operators, Executive Director, System Planning, Executive Director, Finance and Corporate Services, and Executive Director, Market Operations.

The application which started today, 30th August 2024, and expected to end on 13th September, 2024, is being conducted by Philip Consulting Ltd (PCL).
