NIGCOMSAT Adopts FG Performance Management System To Boost Service Delivery

The Nigerian Communications Satellite (NIGCOMSAT) said it has adopted Federal Government’s Performance Management System (PMS) as part of efforts to improve efficiency, strengthen accountability, and enhance public service delivery.
Speaking at the opening of the training, the Managing Director of NIGCOMSAT, Mrs. Jane Egerton-Idehen, represented by the Executive Director, Technical Services, Engr. Abiodun Attah, Tuesday in Abuja said the PMS initiative was long overdue and critical to aligning the organisation with national performance objectives.
She noted that the system would help reposition NIGCOMSAT for improved service delivery while ensuring that staff performance is effectively monitored and evaluated in line with government standards.
In her remarks, the General Manager, Human Resources Management, Mrs. Chinwe Udogu, urged participants to take full advantage of the programme, describing it as a key step toward building a strong work ethic and service-oriented culture within the organisation.
According to a statement by Acting Head, Corporate Affairs Department Mr. Stephen Kwande,she added that the training would play a significant role in repositioning NIGCOMSAT to achieve its strategic goals and operate more efficiently.
Also speaking, the training consultant, Mrs. Njoku Chioma, said the programme was designed to drive organisational culture change, automate work processes, and strengthen institutional performance across the public sector.
The training, jointly organised by the Office of the Head of Service of the Federation and NIGCOMSAT Management, covers key areas including the Federal Civil Service Strategy and Implementation Plan 2021–2025 (FCSSI25), service culture and workplace attitude in the Nigerian public sector, implementation of the Performance Management System in NIGCOMSAT, and the application of artificial intelligence tools to enhance performance in public service.
The programme cuts across all directorates and staff cadres, underscoring NIGCOMSAT’s commitment to aligning its operations with the Presidency’s vision and the directives of the Office of the Head of Service of the Federation.
