
The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has bid farewell to its 2025 retiring officers, honouring their exemplary service to the nation.
The Director-General of NiMet, Professor Charles Anosike, praised the retirees for their professionalism, expertise, and commitment to the agency’s mandate.
Professor Anosike who led Management and staff in paying tribute to the officers who have completed 35 years in service or attained the statutory retirement age, noted that their contributions have strengthened the Agency’s resilience and progress.
He described the event as a significant moment in the Agency’s institutional history.
Anosike said their contributions have been instrumental to the Agency’s growth, noting that they provided stability, institutional memory and mentorship to younger professionals over the years.
According to him, the retirees embodied NiMet’s core values and consistently upheld the standards that define the Agency’s excellence. Their dedication, he added, has strengthened NiMet’s resilience and supported its continuous progress.
In their separate remarks, the retirees expressed deep appreciation to Professor Anosike for what they described as his transformative leadership.
They commended him for repositioning the Agency, boosting staff morale and championing reforms that have enhanced operational efficiency and improved NiMet’s national visibility.
His tenure, they noted, has been marked by innovation, integrity and renewed institutional direction.
Professor Anosike congratulated the retirees and wished them good health, fulfilment and continued success as they transition into a new phase of life.
