NiMet Earns 82.65% In ICPC 2025 Ethics, Integrity Compliance Rating

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) disclosed that it has recorded 82.65 per cent score in the 2025 Ethics and Integrity Compliance Scorecard (EICS) conducted by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC).

According to NiMet on Thursday, the assessment was carried out between May 19 and June 20, 2025, and was recently communicated to the Agency in a letter dated December 29, 2025.

The letter placed NiMet in the category of “Substantial Compliance” and ranking it 10th out of 344 Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) assessed nationwide.

In a related outcome, NiMet also emerged 11th out of 356 MDAs on the ACTU Effectiveness Index (AEI), scoring 82.50 per cent, which earned its Anti-Corruption and Transparency Unit (ACTU) a “Very Effective” rating.

The EICS evaluation was conducted across key pillars including Management Culture and Structure, Financial Management Systems, Administrative Systems, and the overall effectiveness of the Anti-Corruption and Transparency Units in MDAs.

In the letter signed by the ICPC Chairman, Dr. Musa Aliyu, the Commission commended NiMet for the structures and processes it has established to promote efficiency and integrity in its operations.

The Commission also urged the Agency’s management to sustain the standard achieved to ensure consistency in performance ratings and continued improvement in service delivery.

Reacting to the development, NiMet,reaffirmed its commitment to transparency, accountability and professionalism, stating that it would continue strengthening its institutional processes in line with national integrity standards.
