The National Orientation Agency (NOA) has strongly condemned the gruesome killing of some travellers along Uromi Road in Edo State.
NOA, in a statement on Sunday by its
Deputy Director, Communications and Media, Paul Odenyi, extended its deepest condolences to the families of the victims.
While condemning the killings, the Director General of the Agency, Mallam Lanre Onilu, described it as unlawful, inhumane, and against the principles of justice and due process.
“Every Nigerian, regardless of background or location, deserves the right to a fair trial and protection under the law.”
He said the Agency feels confident that security Agencies would rise to the occasion especially as President Bola Tinubu has directed full investigation and ensure that those responsible for this heinous act are brought to justice.
The DG said “Real Nigerians are known for their unity, respect for human rights, and adherence to the rule of law. Whenever there are suspicions of crime, citizens should report to the appropriate security agencies rather than resorting to extrajudicial actions.
“The NOA remains committed to promoting peace, unity, and the values that define us as a nation. Let us work together to uphold justice and safeguard the sanctity of human life,” he said.
