NBS explained that the survey serves as a major source of data for measuringprogress under national and regional development plans, including the Renewed Hope Agenda and African Union 2063 Agenda.

“This survey is Nigeria’s most comprehensive effort to close data gaps affecting women, children, and vulnerable populations. Conducted every five years, MICS7 will collect data on key SDG indicators, enabling targeted interventions across36 states and the Federal Capital Territory,” the Bureau noted.

It informed that its trained interviewers would visit selected households using digital tools to collect accurate data.

Accordingto Statistician General Prince Adeyemi Adeniran, “MICS has been Nigeria’s trusted tool for understanding lives of women and children since 1995, turningcomplex realities into hard numbers that drive policy and progress.”

The NBS management called on the general public to provide data tointerviewers visiting households from December 3, 2025.
