NYSC Programmes Structured To instill Patriotism, Loyalty In Corps Members -DG

Director General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brig. Gen. Yusha’u Ahmed said the Scheme’s programmes were structured to instill leadership skills, good morals, skill acquisition, patriotism, loyalty and other good virtues in Corps Members.
This was contained in a statement issued by the NYSC on Sunday.
The DG advised Corps Members to participate actively in all the four cardinal programmes of the Scheme in order to have a successful service year.
He listed the programmes as; Orientation Course, Primary Assignment, Community Development Service and Winding -Up/ Passing-Out Ceremony.
General Ahmed said the programmes were structured to instill in them leadership skills, good morals, skill acquisition, core values of NYSC, patriotism, loyalty among others, starting from the Orientation Camps.
He stated this while addressing the 2024 Batch ‘C’ Stream One Corps Members at NYSC Cross River State Orientation Camp in Obubra.
He enjoined the Corps Members to avoid indecent dressing, especially while in the NYSC uniform and adhere strictly to the Scheme’s dress code.
“Obey the NYSC bye-laws, maintain our dress code, respect the cultures and traditions of your host communities and maintain good integrity as ambassadors of your institutions, families and NYSC”, he said.
General Ahmed also warned them against associating with people of questionable characters that can land them in trouble.
While presenting her camp situation report to the Director General, the NYSC Cross River State Coordinator, Mrs Joke Oyenuga said all the 1,142 Corps Members comprising of 501 males and 641 females have been participating in all the Camp activities including the Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development training.
