Ondo Guber: Court Resolves AA Candidacy Suit

By Vivian Michael, Abuja

The Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, Tuesday, declared invalid the Governorship primary of the Action Alliance, (AA) party, that produced Akinuli Omolere as candidate for the November 16 Ondo governorship election.

Justice Joyce Abdulmalik dismissed the suit filed by a faction of the party, led by Adekunle Rufai-Omoaje, challenging the conduct of the primary of the leadership of Barrister Kenneth Udeze for the election.

The court in it’s ruling held that Omoaje lacked the legal right to challenge the outcome of the governorship primary having admitted that he organized a parallel one on April 27 the same date as the Udeze-led leadership of the party, which the court deemed as the valid primary.

The judge, therefore, urged the Omoaje faction of the party to stop forum shopping for judgments and go register with another political party instead.

The court warned Omoaje to stop deceiving the public as issue of who remains the authentic National Chairman of Action Alliance (AA) has been settled by the Appeal Court.
