Our Efforts Contributed To Increased Crude Oil Production – Nigerian Navy

The Nigerian Navy has said that its operational successes particularly in the Niger-Delta region, have contributed to the increase in Nigeria’s Crude oil production.
A statement on Tuesday by the Service’s spokesperson, Commodore Aiwuyor Adams-Aliu, said NN’s Units under the auspices of Operation DELTA SANITY destroyed several illegal refining sites and significant quantities of stolen crude oil and illegally refined AGO from criminals in the Niger-Delta area in the month of October.
It will be recalled that the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited (NNPCL) through its CEO, announced recently that Nigeria’s crude oil production has risen to 1.8 million barrels per day (mbd) in the month of October 2024.
Detailing its operations, the NN said between 8th and 26th of October, its operatives had cumulatively recovered 23 illegal refining sites, 30 ovens, 26 reservoirs, 77 sacks, 19 dug out pits, 21 wooden boats, 4 jerry cans, 2 pumping machines and over 260,700 litres of crude oil and AGO during various operations.
The operations were carried out across such areas in the region as Bakana River, Bukuma axis, Ogaji-Ama, Cawthorne channel, Bille, Bukuma, Tombia, Old Bakana and Krakrama axis, Akpila, Bakana and Buguma axis, and Asamatoro community along Opobo riser general area all in Rivers state; Otuwo and Ogboinbiri general area, Isonogbene, Ezeh-Gbene, Tamagbene, Igbomotoru axis in Sou Kongho and Otuwo Igbomotoru general area of Bayelsa State.
Other areas include Ugbokodo and Christian village in Warri South-West Local Government Area, Odioma axis of Brass Local Government Area, Obodo Omadino community at Warri South-West Local Government Area, all of Delta State, and Idi-Ogba and Obenla Riverine Community of Ilaje Local Government Area of Ondo State.
The statement said all recovered products have been handled appropriately.
