Police Arrest Father, Pastor, Over Murder Of Missing Child In Enugu

Police operatives attached to the Central Police Station (CPS) of the Enugu State Command have arrested two suspects over the murder of a 7 year-old boy.

TheFact Nigeria gathered that the arrest of the suspects came on the heels of credible information that was tendered in the course of investigations into the case of a missing child, Chimdalu Chidi.

Based on the information, the Police, on Saturday, 6 November, arrested one Chidi Onyishi, aged 36, residing at Taylor Avenue, Coal Camp, Enugu, for his alleged involvement in the disappearance and murder of his son, for ritual purposes. It was gathered that Onyishi had, on 22 October, reported his missing child to the Police.

According to Ndukwe, preliminary investigation led to Onyishi’s confession to the crime and the subsequent arrest of an alleged accomplice, one Pastor Okeke Eneokwor, aged 95, and said to be blind.

Onyishi, in addition to his confession, also led Police Operatives and a medical team to a stream in Abakpa-Nike, Enugu, where the decomposing corpse of the minor was exhumed from a shallow grave, after he and other cohorts murdered and buried the child on 20 October.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police in the State, CP Abubakar Lawal, has ordered the State CID Enugu, to conduct a thorough and conclusive investigation that will lead to the prosecution of everyone found culpable in the act.
