Police Arrest Suspected Widow Drug Dealer In Kano
Police operatives in Kano State have apprehended a thirty-year old woman for engaging in buying and selling of illicit drugs.
The Police Force’s spokesperson in the State, SP Abdullahi Kiyawa, disclosed this in a statement Tuesday, 03 May, 2022.
TheFact Nigeria gathers that on Saturday, 30 April, 2022, the police received credible information about the illicit drug deals perpetrated by one Jamila Abdullahi of Kwanar Ungogo Quarters, Ungogo LGA of Kano State.
On receipt of the reports, the Commissioner of Police, CP Sama’ila Shu’aibu Dikko, directed Ungogo Divisional Police Officer, SP Murtala Mohammed Fagam, to invite the woman as well as the community policing stakeholders of the area.
She was invited and in front of her relatives and their ward head, she signed an undertaking not to involve in such an act again.
However, a team of Operation Puff Adder led by DPO Ungogo Division, while on surveillance patrol along Kwanar Ungogo area, intercepted the said Jamila, in possession of thirty-five (35) tubes of Rubber Solution.
Credible information received revealed she is the major dealer of Rubber Solution that is used for intoxication in Ungogo LGA and environs.
Jamila confessed that she is a widow, and she has been in the business of buying and selling Rubber Solution for over two years.
According to her, after her first invitation she stopped, but later continued selling the rubber solution. She further confessed from whom she used to buy the intoxicants, but having learned about her suspected arrest, her supplier was said to have escaped and left the country.
Meanwhile, CP Dikko, has directed that a discreet investigation to be carried out at the Command’s criminal investigation department, after which the suspect will be charged to court for prosecution.
While reiterating that criminals will have no hiding place in Kano State, Dikko urged residents to continue to pray for the State and the nation, and report incidences of suspected crime and criminality to the nearest police station, rather than take laws into thier own hands.
He further assured residents of continued rigorous patrols, raids of criminal hideouts, and black spots throughout the State as the Command will sustain the ongoing Operation Puff Adder that is yielding the required results.
