Police Foil Attempted Ritual On 10-year-old, Arrest Two Suspects

Operatives of the Ondo State Police Command have arrested two persons for allegedly being involved in ritual activity.
The Public Relations Officer of the command, Mr Abayomi Jimoh, disclosed this on Saturday, saying the two suspects, identified as Maria and Adewale, were arrested in Ile-Oluji town, the headquarters of Ile-Oluji/Oke Igbo Local Government Area of the state.
According to him, Maria and Adewale are mother and son who allegedly planned to use a 10-year-old boy for ritual purposes on 27th December 2025.
The arrest of the duo followed actionable and credible intelligence leveraged by operatives of the SWAT Tactical Team who act swiftly swung into action upon receiving a on a tip-off from a concerned citizen who reported a suspected ritual activity in Ile-Oluji.
The suspects, Marie, aged 53 and her son Adewale, 28 were arrested while the 10-year-old boy was successfully rescued and has been taken to a hospital for medical attention.
“Preliminary investigations revealed that Maria conspired with her son, Adewale, to engage the services of an herbalist to use the victim for money ritual.
The suspects are currently in police custody, where they reportedly confessed to the crime”, Jimoh said, adding that the suspects would be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigation.
