Police Rescue 36 Kidnap Victims In Kebbi State

Operatives of the Kebbi state Police Command have rescued 36 kidnap victims in Dango/Wasagu local government area in the state.

The state Command’s spokesperson, Nafiu Abubakar disclosed this in a statement on Monday.

According to him, gunmen in their large numbers had on 8th December 2024 at about 6:00p.m barricaded Mairairai/Bena road in Danko/Wasagu LGA and abducted 36 people who were coming back from their respective farms.

On receipt of the report, a combined team of the Police, Army and vigilante swiftly mobilized to the scene and engaged the bandits in a gun duel, overpowering them and forcing them to escape into the forest with gunshot wounds.

The joint team successfully rescued all 36 victims unhurt, and they have since been reunited with their families.

While commending the operatives for their bravery, resilience and professionalism, the Commissioner of Police, Kebbi State Command, CP Bello Sani, urged them to be more committed in making Kebbi State unsafe and uncomfortable for criminals.

He equally charged the Police and other security agencies operating in the area to intensify synergy among them with a view to decisively deal with the bandits and other unscrupulous elements.
