President Bola Tinubu has condemned the attack on the former President of the United States of America, Donald Trump.
Tinubu who condemned the attack in a post on his X handle on Sunday, said violence has no place in democracy.
While extending his sympathies to Donald Trump, President Tinubu condole with the family of the deceased, and wish those wounded a quick recovery.
In his words: “The attack on former President Donald Trump is distasteful and goes beyond the pale of democratic norms. Violence has no place in democracy.
“I extend my sympathies to the former President and wish him relief. I also condole with the family of the deceased and those wounded and wish them a quick recovery.
“Nigeria stands in solidarity with the United States of America at this time”.
Donald Trump was shot in the ear during a campaign rally on Saturday after a major security lapse, raising fear that the campaigns may descend into political violence.
However, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has identified 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks of Bethel park, Pennsylvania, as the Prime Suspect of the attempted assassination.
