Protest: Plateau State Governor Relaxes Curfew

Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, has directed that the 24-hour curfew earlier imposed in the state capital as a result of the protest be further relaxed, allowing movement from 12 noon to 6 pm daily.
Mutfwang issued the directive in a statement signed by his Director of Press and Public Affairs on Thursday.
“In light of the improved security situation in the Jos-Bukuru metropolis, the Plateau State Government has further relaxed the curfew, effective today, Thursday, 8th August 2024. Residents are now permitted to move freely for their lawful activities from 12 noon to 6 pm daily until further notice.
“The state Governor, Barr. Caleb Mutfwang, in consultation with security agencies, has authorised this relaxation.
“Governor Mutfwang commended the public for their peaceful conduct during the curfew and appealed for continued cooperation with security agencies to ensure the safety and security of the state”, the statement read.
