Soludo Emerges Winner Of Anambra Governorship Election

Governor Charles Soludo has been officially declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as the winner of the November 8, 2025, Anambra State governorship election.

Prof. Soludo, was announced the Returning Officer and Vice Chancellor of the University of Benin, Prof. Edogah Omoregie, at the INEC headquarters in Awka on Sunday, November 9.

According to him, Governor Soludo, who ran on the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), secured 422,664 votes, while his closest rival, Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), polled a total of 99,445 votes.

The electoral umpire also announced that the candidate of the Young Progressives Party (YPP), Paul Chukwuma came third with 37,753 votes, while George Moghalu of the Labour Party (LP) got 10,576 votes.

This is even as it was announced that the candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), John Nwosu, garnered 8,208 votes.

Soludo, while briefing journalists shortly after casting his vote on Saturday at a polling unit in Aguata Local Government Area of the state, assured of his victory in the off-cycle election.

He declared emphatically that there is no opposition in the state considering the progress so far made by his administration, especially in the area of infrastructure.
