Speaker, Benue State House Of Assembly, Hyacinth Dajoh Resigns

The Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly, Hon. Hyacinth Aondona Dajoh, has resigned from his position.

Dajoh’s resignation is coming amidst speculation that seven members of the house are set to join the African Democratic Congress (ADC) coalition.

In a resignation letter sighted on Sunday by TheFact Daily, the Speaker said the decision was in the best interest of the state.

While thanking his colleagues for the opportunity to serve, Hon. Dajoh pledged to remain committed to his duties as a legislator, representing Gboko West Constituency.

The letter read thus: “I write to resign my position as the Speaker, Benue State House of Assembly effective today, 24th August, 2025.

“This is done in good faith and in the best interest of the state.

“I want to appreciate my dear colleagues for the opportunity they gave me to be the first among equals.

“I pledge to remain committed to my duties as a legislator and representative of Gboko West State Constituency.”
