With the successful commissioning of a new 300MVA power transformer at its 330/132/33kV Egbin Transmission Substation, the Transmission of Nigeria (TCN) has increased the capacity of the Substation to 450MVA.
TCN’s General Manager, Public Affairs, Ndidi Mbah, who disclosed the development in a statement on Monday, revealed that the new transformer would enhance bulk power availability for Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC) to off-take to its customers in Ikorodu, Shagamu, Ijede, and environs in Lagos.
She quoted the General Manager (Transmission), Lagos Region, Engr. Adeshina Adeonipekun, to have stated that the project, which was completed in-house by TCN engineers in a record-breaking six weeks, was aimed at strengthening the transmission network and improving power delivery nationwide.
