Tinubu Appoints Olumode Samuel Controller-General, Federal Fire Service

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Deputy Controller‑General Olumode Samuel Adeyemi as the new Controller‑General of the Federal Fire Service (FFS).

The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) made the announcement on Wednesday through a statement signed by its Secretary, Major General A.M. Jibril (Rtd.), saying that the appointment takes effect from 14th August 2025.

This appointment comes in view of the upcoming retirement of the current Controller‑General, Engr. Jaji Olola Abdulganiyu, who will be stepping down in mid-August upon reaching the statutory retirement age of 60.

DCG Adeyemi is a seasoned fire service professional with a career that spans both the FCT Fire Service and the Federal Fire Service. He most recently served as Deputy Controller‑General in charge of Administrative and Supply at the Service Headquarters.

Adeyemi has undergone numerous professional and leadership trainings, both locally and internationally, and is recognized for his administrative competence.

He is a member of various professional organizations, including: Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN); Institute of Corporate Administration of Nigeria; Institute of Public Administration of Nigeria and the Chartered Institute of Treasury Management of Nigeria, among others.
