While unveiling the buses, Tinubu said, “in Nigeria, commercial vehicle make up about 80percent of our petrol demand costing us trillions of naira each month.

“The solution is here, we have it and we will work on it, we promise you definitely things will get better and prosperity will be achieved,” he said.

Recall that President Tinubu during his recent national broadcast disclosed that the Compressed Natural Gas Initiative (CNG) was intended to power the nation’s transportation economy and bring costs down.

This, according to him, would save over two trillion Naira a month, being used to import PMS and AGO and free up nation’s resources for more investment in healthcare and education.

He announced that the administration would be distributing a million kits of extremely low or no cost to commercial vehicles that transport people and goods and who currently consume 80% of the imported PMS and AGO.

President Tinubu said, the administration has already started the distribution of conversion kits and setting up of conversion centres across the country in conjunction with the private sector.

“We believe that this CNG initiative will reduce transportation costs by approximately 60 per cent and help to curb inflation”, he said.
