Tinubu Condemns Killing Of Ekiti Monarchs, Orders Rescue Of Kidnapped Pupils
President Bola Tinubu has condemned the gruesome murder of two traditional rulers in Ekiti State, the Onimojo of Imojo-Ekiti, Oba Olatunde Samuel Olusola, and the Elesun of Esun-Ekiti, Oba David Babatunde Ogunsola.
Tinubu vowed that the perpetrators will not escape justice.
He, however, condoled with the families and subjects of the traditional rulers, Governor Biodun Oyebanji, and the people of Ekiti State on the deeply agonising development.
The Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Chief Ajuri Ngelale in a statement on Tuesday, January 30, 2024, said, the President ordered the immediate rescue of pupils and teachers kidnapped around Eporo-Ekiti area of the State.
Ngelale said, as security of life and property is the primary responsibility of government, President Tinubu assured Nigerians that the nation’s security architecture was being robustly fortified for better and expected outcomes.
TheFact Daily had earlier reported the abduction of six children, three teachers, and a bus driver in Emure Ekiti, Ekiti State.
The gunmen were said to have ambushed the school bus carrying the pupils from a private nursery school back home at about 5 pm on Monday and abducted them.
The paper also reported that bandits attacked a vehicle conveying traditional rulers between Oke-Ako and Ipao Ekiti, in Ajoni Local Government Area of the state.
