TotalEnergies Inaugurates Medical Facility In Port Harcourt Barracks

As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) drive, TotalEnergies has inaugurated a newly constructed, state-of-the-art block of hospital wards at the 6 Division Medical Services and Hospital, Port Harcourt Barracks.

The Division’s spokesperson, Lt. Col. Danjuma Jonah Danjuma, in a statement today ,said  the project, commissioned on 7 November 2025, was formally unveiled by the Managing Director and Country Chair of TotalEnergies Upstream Companies in Nigeria, Mr. Matthieu Bouyer.

In his remarks, Mr. Bouyer commended the 6 Division of the Nigerian Army for its unwavering commitment to professionalism and the protection of the company’s personnel and facilities. He explained that the initiative stemmed from TotalEnergies’ long-standing partnership with the Nigerian Army and its commitment to supporting national security and welfare.

“The construction and handover of this facility reflect our dedication to improving healthcare access and contributing to the well-being of soldiers and their families,” he stated, adding that the new wards would ease congestion and enhance medical services within the barracks.

The General Officer Commanding (GOC) 6 Division, Nigerian Army, Major General Emmanuel Eric Emekah, expressed deep appreciation to TotalEnergies for the gesture, describing it as a strong example of public-private collaboration in advancing peace, stability, and social development.

“This project underscores what can be achieved through effective partnership between the military and the private sector,” he said, pledging continued security support for TotalEnergies’ operations in the region.

The newly commissioned medical facility comprises three wards—children’s, women’s, and men’s—fully equipped with modern medical furniture and equipment, including 24 ABS hospital beds and lockers, examination couches, patient trolleys, ward screens, wheelchairs, walking sticks, and sphygmomanometers.

“The event marked another milestone in TotalEnergies’ sustained efforts to promote community development and enhance the welfare of military personnel and their dependents”, Danjuma stated.
