Transport Minister Urges Unity, Safety As Muslims Mark Eid-el-Fitr

The Minister of Transportation, Said Alkali, has called on Nigerians to embrace unity, mutual respect, and safety as Muslims across the country celebrate Eid-el-Fitr.

In a goodwill message on Friday, Alkali congratulated the Muslim Ummah for successfully completing the month-long spiritual exercise.

He urged them to uphold the values of discipline, charity, and compassion cultivated during the period.

He stressed that the lessons of Ramadan particularly selflessness and support for the less privileged should not end with the festivities but be sustained in everyday life.

 According to the minister, a society built on empathy and care for vulnerable citizens is better positioned for growth and prosperity.

The minister also used the occasion to call for renewed patriotism and support for government initiatives, noting that the transportation sector remains central to Nigeria’s economic development and national integration.

Highlighting the country’s diversity, Alkali urged Nigerians to promote religious tolerance and peaceful coexistence, describing unity as critical to overcoming the nation’s socio economic challenges.

He further advised commuters and transport operators to adhere strictly to safety regulations during the festive period to prevent accidents and ensure smooth travel.

Alkali also prayed for peace, security, and continued progress in the country, wishing Muslims a joyful and hitch free Eid-el-Fitr celebration.
