Troops of Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK) have intercepted ₦37 million suspected to be linked to terrorism financing, in a major breakthrough against insurgent support networks in the North East.

Disclosing this in a statement on Monday, OPHK’s Media Information Officer, Lt Col Sani Uba, said the cash was recovered at the Forward Operating Base, Chabbal Checkpoint, where troops intercepted a suspicious vehicle conveying five occupants.

A search of the vehicle uncovered the ₦37 million concealed in bags, alongside multiple mobile phones believed to be linked to terrorist coordination activities.

Lt Col Uba said the interception is as a result of intensified operations aimed at dismantling both the logistics and financial structures sustaining terrorist activities across the theatre.

In a related operation, troops of Sector 1, working with vigilante forces, carried out a night ambush along a known crossing route used by ISWAP elements transiting from the Cameroon axis into Nigeria.

The insurgents reportedly fled after encountering heavy fire, leaving behind a cache of supplies assessed to be meant for resupply operations.

The military high command commended the troops for their professionalism and resilience, reaffirming its commitment to degrading terrorist capabilities and restoring lasting peace in the region.
