We Are Investigating Alleged Invasion Of Abuja Hotel – FCT Police

The Nigeria Police Force (NPF), FCT Command said, it is investigating the invasion by some of its operatives, of a hotel in Gwarinpa area of the Federal Capital Territory.
The FCT Police Command’s spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, disclosed this on Tuesday in a post on X.
Online news medium, Sahara Reporters, reported that some police officers, led by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Gwarinpa in Abuja, Babale Hamza Galadima, had on Sunday night, invaded Hotel VIMA in the 1st Avenue area of Gwarinpa, arresting all occupants and destroying properties in the hotel.
Guests at the hotel were arrested and taken to the Gwarinpa Police Division, where they were asked to pay N500,000 as bail to secure their freedom.
Lamenting the development, the Manager of the hotel, simply identified as Wayne, said that all the staff of the hotel were still detained in the station as of 5:45pm on Monday.
He said that guests and visible staff were harassed, beaten and dehumanised, property destroyed, and everyone on scene was arrested and taken to the station.
According to Sahara Reporters, some CCTV footages the manager shared with them, showed staff and guests including a family with little kids marched outside and ordered to sit on the floor. It also showed one of the police officers carrying sticks which were said to have been used to beat up the hotel guests.
“Investigation into the incident has commenced. The hotel management and all parties involved were invited to interview by the Commissioner of FCT by 11am”, Adeh said in the post.
