We’re Not Reselling Crude Oil -Dangote Industries

By Sunday Etuka, Abuja

Dangote Industries Limited (DIL), has refused the report alleging that its refinery’s crude distillation unit (CDU) is faulty, thus reselling crude oil.

The company, in a statement on Saturday by its Group Chief, Branding and Communication Officer, Anthony Chiejina, clarified that the Dangote refinery is not authorized to sell crude oil purchased from Nigeria.

It also clarified that contrary to the claim, the refinery’s CDU is fully operational and functioning optimally.

It, therefore, urged the public to disregard the false narratives, which are likely driven by interests opposed to the local refining of fuels.

The statement read thus: “Our attention has been drawn to a misleading report suggesting that our refinery’s crude distillation unit (CDU) is experiencing issues and that we are reselling crude oil.

“We categorically deny these claims. The Dangote refinery is not authorized to sell crude oil purchased from Nigeria, and our CDU is fully operational and functioning optimally.

“We advise the public to disregard these false narratives, which are likely driven by interests opposed to the local refining of fuels”.
