The Benue State Government has disclosed that it is yet to appoint a Vice Chancellor for the Fr. Adasu University Makurdi (FAUM) as being erroneously reported.
This clarification was contained in a statement on Monday by the Chief Press Secretary, to the Governor of Benue State,
Sir Tersoo Kula.
Earlier report by an online platform disclosed that the government announced Rev. Fr. Prof. Vitalis Torwel, of the Mass Communication Department as the new Vice Chancellor.
However, Sir Kula dismissed the report, explaining that the process for the appointment of a new Vice Chancellor for the University, is ongoing.
“It MUST be completed and a public announcement of the new helmsman shall be made by the Visitor to the University, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia.
“At the moment, there is an Acting VC in place. The public is therefore to note and disregard any unfounded rumour,” he clarified.
