We’ve Deployed Joint Security Team To Rescue Kidnapped Students – Kebbi Police

The Kebbi state Police Command has said that a combined team of Police tactical units, military personnel and vigilantes has been deployed for the search and rescue of students abducted from Government Girls Comprehensive School, Maga in Kebbi state.

The state police command disclosed this on Monday in a statement issued by its Public Relations Officer, Nafiu Abubakar.

He explained that a gang of armed bandits with sophisticated weapons, shooting sporadically, had in the early hours of Monday, 17th November 2025, stormed the Government Girls Comprehensive Secondary School, Maga, Danko district, Danko/Wasagu LGA of Kebbi State, and were engaged in a gun duel by the police tactical units deployed in the school.

Unfortunately, the suspected bandits had already scaled through the fence of the school and abducted twenty-five students from their hostel to an unknown destination. Also, one Hassan Makuku was shot dead while Ali Shehu sustained injury on his right hand.

The PRO said that upon receiving the news of the unfortunate incident, the team was deployed in the area and “is currently combing the bandits’ routes and nearby forest, with a view to rescue the abducted students and possibly arrest the perpetrators of the dastardly act”.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police in the state, CP Bello M Sani has reiterated the Command’s unwavering determination in safeguarding the lives and property of the residents of Kebbi State.

He equally appealed to the members of the public to remain calm, vigilant, and continue supporting Police operations for peace and stability to be maintained.
