Yuletide: Ban On Fire Works Still In Force – Delta CP
The Commissioner of Police, Delta State, CP Ari Muhammed Ali FCIA, has announced that the ban on the use of fireworks was still in force.
According to a statement signed by the State Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe, on Friday, December 9, 2021, the Command would enforce all the extant laws prohibiting the use of fireworks, popularly called ‘knock-out’, ‘bangers’ etc, especially during this Yuletide season.
TheFact Nigeria reports that the statement further advised parents/guardians to guide their children and wards to desist from using them, while retailers of such goods were equally warned to withdraw from the sales of these products as anyone arrested will be prosecuted.
Consequently, the police chief in the State has directed all Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers and Tactical Commanders to ensure strict compliance with the ban on fireworks in their respective Areas of Responsibility.
Furthermore, undercover Police Operatives have also been deployed for the purpose of arresting anyone found wanting.
The CP, while assuring residents of their safety at all times also called on residents to continue to partner with the Police and other security agencies by providing useful information in their untiring efforts at providing a peaceful and secured environment for all.
