Police Arrest Notorious Armed Robbers, Recover Dangerous Weapons, In Kano
A team of Police operatives have arrested four members of an armed robbery syndicate in Kano State.
This was disclosed earlier today by the State Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Haruna Kiyawa.
TheFact Nigeria learnt that a report was received by the police in the early hours of Friday, 7th January, 2022, to the effect that armed robbers had broken into some houses at Maidile Quarters, Western Bypass, Kumbotso LGA, Kano State, and robbed the residents of their mobile phones and other valuables.
The Police Chief in the State, CP Samaila Shu’aibu Dikko, upon receipt of the report, raised and instructed a team of Operation Puff Adder operatives led by SP Buba Yusuf, to arrest the culprits and recover the stolen properties.
It was gathered that the team immediately went to the scene where they met one of the armed robbers, who had been trapped and attacked by the mob. He wad rescued and rushed to Murtala Mohammed Specialist Hospital Kano for treatment and further investigations.
In the course of the discreet investigation carried out, the suspect, Hussaini Hassan, led Puff Adder Operatives to the arrest of the leader of the gang, one Ali Isah, alias “Aljan”, and other two syndicate members, Ismail JL and Rabiu Ibrahim.
The suspects, who were arrested with robbed properties, dangerous weapons and house breaking implements, have all confessed to their offences and will be charged to court upon completion of investigations.
Meanwhile the Commissioner of Police in the State has warned sternly that criminals will have no hiding place in Kano, and as such are advised to either repent or leave the State completely, otherwise, they will be arrested and made to face the full wrath of the Law.
While thanking residents of Kano State for their prayers, encouragement, continuous support and cooperation, CP Dikko urged them to pray for the State and the nation, as well as report incidences to the nearest Police Station, rather than take laws into their hands.
He assured that rigorous patrol and raids of criminal hideouts and black spots will continue throughout the State, as the Command will sustain the ongoing “Operation Puff Adder”.
