Hanifa: Education Minister Lauds Kano State Government Moves
The Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu has applauded Kano State Government over measures it took in reaction to the gruesome murder of 5year old Hanifa Abubakar by her teacher.
Adamu’s response was contained in a statement issued by Director, Press and Public Relations, of the ministry, Dr. Ben. Bem Goong.
TheFact Nigeria recalled that the The Kano State Government had on Monday revoked the Certificates of Operations of all private schools in the state and asked them to come for revalidation of their certificates.
Mallam Adamu stated that the Federal Ministry of Education condemned the killing of late Hanifa in all its ramifications.
“We are watching this National tragedy very closely and we are interested in seeing that justice is not only done, but explicitly seeing to be done.
“If a child can not be safe in the hands of his/her teacher, where else can the child be safe?” the Minister queried.
He continued: “This is an assult on the entire teaching profession and must not be allowed to happen again.
“We sympathize with the parents of the innocent baby and pray that Allah condoles them in the best way possible”, Adamu said.
