NAOWA President To Sponsor 30 People In Skills Acquisition Training

The President of Nigerian Army Officers Wives Association, NAOWA, Mrs Salamatu Faruk Yahaya, has pledged to sponsor 30 persons in the Association’s Skills Acquisition Centre in Benin City, Edo State.

NAOWA President and wife of the Army Chief made the commitment Wednesday, 25 May, 2022, while on a 2-day visit to 4 Brigade, Nigerian Army Cantonment, Ekenhuan, Benin City.

TheFact Nigeria recalls that Mrs. Yahaya had, on Tuesday, 24 May, commissioned six blocks of classrooms staff office for the NAOWA Nursery Primary school, Giginya barracks, in Sokoto State.

On arrival, Mrs Yahaya and her entourage were received by the Chairperson, NAOWA 2 Division Chapter, Mrs Joy Chibuisi, and the Zonal Coordinator, NAOWA Brigade Chapter, Mrs Sa’adatu Abdullahi.

The NAOWA President commenced her visit by paying courtesy calls to the Brigade Commander, Brig Gen SA Abdullahi, the Executive Governor of Edo State, Mr Godwin Obaseki and the Oba of Benin, His Royal Majesty, Omo Noba Nedo, Uku Akpolokpolo Ewaure the II.

While at the Ekehuan Cantonment, Mrs Yahaya commissioned the Upgraded NAOWA Skills Acquisition Centre, which comprises a 250 seater Multi Purpose Hall, as well as Catering Centre, Tailoring, ICT and Photography Centres.

The NAOWA president then pledged to sponsor the registration and course fee for 10 persons willing to train in ICT, 10 in Tailoring and Textile Management and 10 others in Catering and Food Management.

In addition, she made a commitment to purchase 50 units of admission forms for youths and women willing to take part in trainings to be provided at the Centre.

The NAOWA President, commended the NAOWA Zonal Coordinator for the impressive and laudable project.

She visited the NAOWA Nursery and Primary School where she unveiled the newly furnished NAOWA Day-care Centre, commended staff of the school and presented some welfare packages as show of appreciation for their efforts. She later had an interactive session with the NASWA members and issued out food items and cash token to 50 widows of the nation’s fallen heroes.

Mrs. Yahaya concluded her visit at the Military Hospital Benin, where she donated medical equipment including, infant incubator, blood bank, hematocrit centrifuge, laboratory incubator and 40 units of bed sheets.

Highlights of the visit include the welcome dinner which was graced by the wife of the Executive Governor of Edo State, Mrs Betsy Obaseki, presentation of souvenirs and group photographs.
