Jeff Bezos Asked To Vaccinate Citizens Of Gaza, West Bank From Covid-19
Reactions have trailed the resignation of the world’s richest person, the Billionaire founder/Chief Executive Officer of Amazon, Mr. Jeff Bezos.
A twitter follower, Jehad Yasin from Georgia in the United States of America, with the account name of @tobyjy in a reply to @CNBCnow pleaded with Mr Bezos to help vaccinate people in West Bank and Gaza from the coronavirus pandemic.
@tobyjy wrote, “Bezos please do something to help vaccinate people in West Bank and Gaza which are under Israel occupation and siege.
“Israel received US Covid aid and kept it for itself and deny any vaccine to the Palestinian. A good cause to spend some of your wealth on by helping these people”.
Recall that the Amazon had earlier announced that Jeff Bezos would step down as Amazon CEO, while Andy Jassy takes over in the same capacity in the third quarter of 2021.
This is even as the tech and e-commerce giant reported a surge in profit and revenue in the holiday quarter.
The company said Andy Jassy, who heads Amazon Web Services, would take over as CEO in the third quarter.
The announcement came as Amazon reported a blowout holiday quarter with profits more than doubling to $7.2 billion and revenue jumping 44 per cent to $125.6 billion.
Jassy joined Amazon as a marketing manager in 1997 and in 2003 founded AWS, the web division of the company which has been one of the most profitable but least-known units of the tech colossus.
