
The Nigerian Army has decorated four senior officers of the Service to the rank of Colonel and one officer to the rank of Major.
Acting Assistant Director Army Public Relations, Captain Adachukwu Okwuka, disclosed in a statement that the officers were decorated by the Acting Commander Corps of Medical Brigadier General SO Okoigi, at the event that took place at the conference room of the Headquarters Nigerian Army Medical Corps, Bonny Cantonment, Lagos.
The Corps Commander congratulated the beneficiaries on their well-deserved promotions to the rank of Colonel and Major, iterating that this new elevation is a call to more commitment, and responsibility.
He equally urged them to remain focused and disciplined in carrying out their duties both professionally and personally as this new elevation must be reflected even in their personal lives.
He also noted that promotions in the Nigerian Army come from hard work, even as he enjoined them to keep it up.
The newly decorated officers are Col O Emadia, Col AS Ogunsakin, Col AT Odey, Col IB Suleiman and Maj. OI Onu.
Speaking on behalf of the celebrants, Colonel O Emadia expressed appreciation to the Chief of Army Staff and the Commander Corps of Medical for their mentorship and support, pledging renewed dedication to the service of the nation.
Present during the occasion were the Commander 81 Division Garrison, Directors of Nigerian Army Medical Corps, Staff Officers and a wide array of family members, friends and well-wishers.
The event was concluded with a group photograph and refreshments.
