TCN Disputes Kaduna Electric Claim, Says All Jos Transmission Lines Fully Operational

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has dismissed claims by Kaduna Electric that transmission constraints are affecting power supply to Jos and its environs, insisting all 330kV lines to the city remain fully in service.
In a statement issued Thursday, TCN described a statement circulated by Kaduna Electric on 26/8/26 as false and a deliberate misrepresentation of facts, stressing that all 330kV transmission lines connected to Jos are in service and transmitting bulk power.
According to TCN, the only recent incident occurred on 23rd August 2026 at 03:30hrs, when the Jos – Lafia 330kV Line 2 circuit breaker was opened for voltage control as a routine operational measure to maintain grid stability. Explaining that the line was restored and back in service by 11:59hrs the following day, 24th August 2026.
TCN said there has been no outage or disruption of bulk electricity transmission on any 330kV line supplying Jos attributable to the company since that restoration.
The company reaffirmed its commitment to transparency and efficient delivery of bulk electricity to Distribution Companies nationwide, urging Kaduna Electric and other stakeholders to verify facts with TCN before issuing statements it says could misinform the public and cause unnecessary anxiety.
TCN also appealed to electricity customers in Jos and its environs to disregard what it called misleading information, adding that it would continue working with all Distribution Companies to ensure stable and reliable power supply.
