FG Urged To Unlock Marine Sector Potential

The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Rashidi Ladoja, has urged the Federal Government to sustain efforts aimed at unlocking the economic potential of Nigeria’s maritime resources.

The monarch made the call on Thursday while receiving the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, during a courtesy visit to his palace in Ibadan, Oyo State.

He commended the minister’s ongoing efforts to develop the country’s marine and blue economy sector, noting that the initiative holds significant prospects for economic growth, job creation and national development.

In his response, Oyetola expressed appreciation for the monarch’s long-standing contributions to peace, unity and political stability in Ibadanland and the wider South-West region.

The minister noted that traditional institutions remain critical partners in national development and community mobilisation, adding that their support is vital to the success of government initiatives across sectors.

According to a statement by the minister’s Special Adviser, Dr. Bolaji Akinola, discussions during the visit also focused on leadership, national cohesion and the need for sustained collaboration between public office holders and traditional authorities to promote development and strengthen regional stability.
