The Minister of Defence, Gen. Christopher Gwabin Musa (Rtd), has pledged total dedication to his new role as Secretary I of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council for the 2027 election, while reaffirming that national security remains his foremost responsibility.
Musa, in a statement on Monday following his appointment, expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the APC leadership for the confidence reposed in him, describing the assignment as a call to higher service.
He assured the party leadership, stakeholders and supporters nationwide that he would discharge the responsibilities of the office with diligence, administrative rigour and unwavering focus towards achieving the party’s electoral objectives.
The Minister, however, stressed that his campaign responsibilities would not detract from his constitutional mandate of safeguarding Nigeria’s territorial integrity and protecting the lives and property of citizens.
“National security remains our highest imperative,” Musa said, assuring Nigerians that ongoing military operations, strategic reforms and inter-agency collaborations across the defence sector would continue with increased vigour.
He said his commitment to strengthening national security, protecting Nigerians and advancing the President’s vision of a safe and prosperous country remained firm.
Musa also urged APC members and patriotic Nigerians to remain united behind the administration, expressing confidence that the party would succeed at the 2027 polls while continuing to deliver effective governance and security nationwide.
