Chairman of the Action Alliance, Chief Kenneth Udeze told TheFact Nigeria that the outcome of the election does not end the activities of the process, as National officers elected at the Convention shall be sworn in and take their oath of office on April 13, 2021 in a ceremony.

Already, the Action Alliance’s National Chairman, Chief Kenneth Udeze has expressed his intention to contest for a second term.

Ahead of the convention, the Action Alliance, between Tuesday and Thursday within the week, successfully conducted party congresses at the wards, LGAs and state levels across the nation.

Delegates to the convention, duly elected at the state levels, are expected to elect the new national exco members who will steer the ship of the Party at the national level.

In an internal memo, a message he wrote to all the States Contact persons and liaison officers, Chief Udeze said: “As AA commences its Congresses, feelers from over two-third majority of states indicate that we are doing very well in the ongoing Ward congresses going on simultaneously across the states in the country.

“The Congress started on Tuesday across the country and on Wednesday, the delegates elected are to elect the LGA Executives while the delegates will be at the various state offices to elect the State executives who will in turn converge on Abuja for the National convention to elect the National Executive Committee of the party where I am running for a second term in office as National Chairman.

“A three member Electoral Committee coordinating the activities and programs for the election are already working and has released its guidelines.

“Over 200 delegates are expected to participate in the ongoing exercise. The party under my leadership is having no stone unturned to make sure that the strict letters of 2005 Action Alliance Constitution as Amended. We look forward for a successful outcome.”

Meanwhile, the AA National Chairman has given reasons for his intention to run for a second term in office and why the delegates should support him to win.

A stalwart of the Action Alliance who preferred not to be mentioned told TheFact Nigeria that it is not a bogus ambition for a leader to seek a second term in office, especially if he has proved his worth and has the goodwill of his party men.

Chief Udeze said: “With special reference to the question in the mind of so many people, who had followed the activities of our Party since its registration as a full-fledged Political Party and a veritable platform for political office seekers, and indeed, those who are supporting because of the ideals and values we showcase, one thing that will come so easily to their mind, is that under my watch and in my first tenure, our Party has done very well.

“Our Party met the mark set by INEC, that was the reason why everyone is here today, and not in the Law Court contesting our deregistration. So, a glowing testimony to my stewardship, is that we are still one of the fully accredited Political Parties in Nigeria, with massive prospects.

“In the last general election, through my political savviness, we were able to win a lot of seats in the States and National Assembly.

“The peace that the Party has enjoyed so far, is because am a team player, and I run a rancor free administration, where everyone’s opinion count. It may surprise you to note that most of the challenges we have ever had, were from the outside, those whose intent and purpose is to distract us, but I thank God for faithful Party members, who had always stood by me. So, the most crucial and important reason for the call to serve the second time, is to save the soul of the Party from political terrorist and hijackers.

“Continuity in politics, is a very important political component. I know where we are coming from, I know where we are at the moment, and I know where we are going to. With all intent and purpose, it is the most ideal thing to do, as we are in a better place now, that we were in the past, to make a thick note.

“The Party must be restored back to the intent of our founding fathers in the philosophy of “No turning back and no going back”.

“In my second term, I want to make sure that we immortalize the names of those who paid the supreme price in the cause of their membership and contributions with regards to projecting the party with their strength, without monetary inducements, but with total commitment to the ideals they believe in, which has the tendencies of protecting and advancing lives, liberty and democracy.

“I want to single out Compatriots like the first National Chairman of AA, Late Senator Suleiman Salawu (a Second Republic Senator) from Kwara State and also, Alh. Abdullahi Dogolinkita, from Kebbi state. There will be in place an annual leadership lecture in honour of these great men in the near future.

“Above all I want to make sure that the Masses that owns the Party known as Action Alliance takes over the process of abiding strictly to the letters of the constitution because by so doing sanity and respect will be restored back to the corporate Political existence of the Party.”
