By Sunday Etuka

Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang has extended his heartfelt appreciation to the members of the All Progressive Congress (APC) for their overwhelming support during the just concluded gubernatorial primary election, especially the delegates drawn across all the 17 Local Government Areas (LGA) of the state.

In an appreciation message to the members posted on his X handle on Saturday, Mutfwang expressed deep gratitude to party members, citizens of Plateau State, and Nigerians at home and abroad whose interest and enthusiasm in the exercise, he said, was “beyond comprehension.”

“I am deeply honored by this victory,” Mutfwang said. “It has renewed my belief in our common destiny as a people in search for peace, prosperity and the deserved place of honour for Plateau State in Nigeria and beyond.”

According to him, the victory belongs to everyone – party faithful, supporters, stakeholders, youths, women, elders, and volunteers who worked tirelessly.

The Governor paid tribute to President Bola Tinubu for the hand of fellowship he extended to him and the confidence he has reposed in him to lead the people of Plateau State.

He also singled out the APC Chairman, Prof. Nentewa Yilwatda Goshwe, thanking him for publicly affirming that there was “no vacancy” in the Plateau State Government House.

Mutfwang equally expressed appreciation to the National Working Committee, state and local government party structures, electoral committee at all levels, and security agencies for the peaceful conduct of the primaries.

Acknowledging that some aspirants and party members may be dissatisfied by the outcomes of the various primary contests, the governor urged patience.

“As we move forward, let us remember that there is no victor and no vanquished,” he said, extending specific commendation to his fellow aspirant, Yilchini Jan Bida, for his sportsmanship, and invaluable contribution to the democratic process.”

He called on those who contested other positions and were unhappy with the outcomes to exercise restraint, promising to activate internal party mechanisms to address their grievances.
