APC State Chairmen Pass Vote Of Confidence On Buni-Led Caretaker Committee
Chairmen of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) have passed a vote of confidence on the Governor Mai Mala Buni-led Caretaker/Extra-Ordinary National Convention Planning Committee.
At the just concluded meeting between the Chairman of the APC Caretaker Committee and APC State Chairmen on Wednesday at the Party’s National Secretariat in Abuja, Hon. Ali Bukar Dalori, who doubles as APC’s Chairman in Borno State and Chairman, Forum of APC Chairmen in Nigeria moved the unanimous vote of confidence motion
which was seconded by Abba Yaro, Chairman of the APC in Benue state.
In his opening remarks Governor Mai Mala Buni recounted a number of positive results, which include “the resolution of several internal disputes that were menacing in several state chapters of the Party”,and therefore urged all the State Chairman in attendance to do same in their various states if there is still any lingering crisis before the next NEC meeting.
He also added that his led committee has “created a level playing ground for all members of the party, inclusive of state chapters to run affairs of the party in their domain without unnecessary and destructive interference from external interests, for as long as the laws and regulations of the Party are duly abided by.”
“This has consequently ushered in a much needed regime of internal democracy within the party as was obvious in the handling of the various primary elections that were coordinated in the last few months by CECPC; and the manner of the conduct of the recent Ondo state election that the party won.
“The Committee has embarked on massive conflict resolution in the party across the 36 states and FCT. We have also been able to reach a compromise that demands the withdrawal of all internal litigations against the party, to allow for internal resolutions and settlement of disputes. This alone is a huge positive that would not have been possible without your full support and collaboration as party chairmen across the states of the federation. The Committee however, will still plead with you to use the goodwill of your offices to ensure the full withdrawal of such litigations that may still remain within your domain before the next NEC meeting of the party. You may however reach out to my office, in writing, if need be for assistance such matters that may be beyond your powers – as it is a part of the consensus building process to restore our party to the path of glory.
“The Committee will also wish to state categorically that the party and its management belong to all of us. The door of the National Secretariat and that of the chairman, is always open to all our State Chairmen and all members of our great party, the APC.”
It was on this note that all the APC State Chairmen led by Alhaji Bukar Dalori of Borno State expressed satisfaction on the progress made so far since the inception of the Buni-led Caretaker committee till date. He said “We are pleased and proud of what they have achieved so far and have assured the Committee of the support of the entire APC membership across the country. The Party is getting more united, with more people joining and last weekend success in Ondo State is a reflection of its successes.
Equally, the plans for the new membership registration, in accordance with section 9.4 of our Party constitution, which provides that a register of members shall be compiled and maintained at the Ward level has met with the approval of Party members across the country.
“I Alhaji Bukar Dalori, Chairman Borno State APC and APC Chairmen Forum hereby move a motion of vote of confidence on the APC Caretaker/Extra-Ordinary National Convention Planning Committee and call for a seconder.
